An award winning script writer and author, Gajra Kottary started her career as a journalist at The Statesman in the late 80s. She debuted as an author with a collection of women-centric short stories titled Fragile Victories in 1996. Gajra forayed into writing for television with Soni Razdan’s Humare Tumhare and has since been delivering stories, loved and viewed by millions. Astitva – Ek Prem Kahani which she co-wrote for Zee TV, was her first long running, award winning serial. Some of her acclaimed shows include Jyoti, Godh Bharai, Panaah, Ghar Ek Sapna, Ek Veer ki Ardaas – Veera, the historical magnum opus Buddha (Zee TV) and Balika Vadhu (Colors), voted as one of the highest viewership grossers on Indian television.
